Larbert Carriers prides ourselves in our commitment to quality assurance and ensuring domestic, private, commercial and public sector work is delivered at a consistently high standard, meeting and exceeding set expectations of quality, delivery, time scale and budget. This is illustrated by our quality commitment to facilities, management, staff, systems and controls as detailed below.

Quality Facilities

In this last year the company has grown in size both in its facilities and workforce. In addition to the original 3,000sq foot warehouse at viaduct Larbert, FK5 3NN, the company now owns another facility at Kilns Place, Falkirk, FK2 7YS. This is set on a half acre site and houses storage facilities as well as the office and parking. With regards Quality Assurance, Larbert Carriers holds registration with the following Trade Bodies

  • Certificate of Professional Competence in national road haulage operations which we have held since 1983
  • ADR – vocational training certificate for drivers of vehicles carrying dangerous goods Operators License
  • As the CPC Holder/Transport Manager is legally responsible for the Operator’s License which he or she runs it is not sufficient to be a faceless name on a certificate, it is essential that the Transport Manager is an active and present part of the team ensuring the Operator’s license meets and exceeds the standards set by law.

In terms of Insurance, Larbert Carriers is covered by extensive policies (in excess of £10 Million) for your piece of mind.

Quality Management & Staff

The management structure is well suited to both strategic and operational oversight ensuring quality control and consistent contract delivery of all Key Performance Indicators whilst ensuring all Service Level Agreements are adhered to.

All Staff are suitably trained / qualified and have undergone a robust bespoke Larbert Carriers Training Programme and adhere to the highly professional Code of Conduct that Larbert Carriers uses to establish quality control. The aforementioned training programme covers key business areas such as:

  • Health and Safety & Fire Safety
  • Risk Assessment
  • Working at Height
  • Asbestos
  • Working in unoccupied housings

Quality Assurance Systems

Larbert Carriers is fully committed to Quality Assurance internally and externally ensuring all project and contract deliverables, KPIs and consistent service level delivery. In particular:

Larbert Carriers operates a documented Environmental Management System which has effective management processes and procedures to manage the significant environmental impacts of the business.

  • To measure regularly, customer satisfaction, anticipating their needs;
  • To make available the resources necessary to achieve the objectives; specifically consolidating and developing company know-how through continuous training;

Internal Controls

Larbert Carriers has in place, the skills needed to ensure that the requirements of our customers are taken care of in a safe and professional manner.  Everyone from the management and office staff through to the removal men and drivers are aware of the company structure, which includes Health and Safety, Accident Reporting, COSHH, Protection of Public Documentation, Equal Opportunities, Risk Assessments, Smoking Policy, Equality and Diversity Policies, and our own Environmental Policy.  All employees are fully aware of their responsibilities and constant training puts this company in an excellent position to meet and surpass out customers’ requirements.  Each employee has a responsibility to be professional in every aspect of their employment.

Risk Assessment

Larbert Carriers has extensive systems and processes for identifying and managing risk. Under this contract, to ensure consistent delivery and adherence to the full SLA and KPIs, a Risk Assessment will be carried out for each property to ensure conformance to Health & Safety. This assessment will ensure the following key areas are covered:

  1. Working at Height
  2. Asbestos
  3. Working around existing services
  4. Working in and around occupied buildings
  5. Working in and around formally occupied buildings(unoccupied)
  6. Working from Public Spaces
